Interviews with Fina:

TRAINING:
In 2024, we continued with the quarterly online surgical training for African surgeons from francophone countries. These were coordinated by Dr. Marc Garcia-Elias from Barcelona and Dr. Djilouba Beninga from Senegal. In May, there was a special course on “polio after-effects” taught by Andre Kaelin from Switzerland.
COOPERATION:
In March, we received confirmation of six trauma surgeons and two African anesthetists who work in their countries of origin who are willing tocollaborate on surgical missions with the Foundation.
Preparation of the Project “Stand up a child” – the first Surgical Expedition in the south of Chad to operate and put on their feet 25 children by anentirely African surgical team. This includes the purchase of expedables in Chad. This will be with the collaboration of the Txadien health personnel of the Sant Joseph de Bebebdjà Hospital as well as with the physiotherapists and orthopedists from the Doba Center for the Disabled. The entire proces will be monitored and recorded via audiovisuals.
The project is viable and sustainable because we are uniting the three pillars that are at thefoundation of this initiative: training/cooperation/communication.
The budget is 25,000 euros and the plan of action is for the end of December 2024 – mid-January 2025.
We presented the project to HP’s “Charity Journey”, winning first prize and receiving 75% of the budgetwe need. Also, this past summer, we organized and presnted various public events including a concert with Pedro Buerruezo & Camerata and an ITDanza performance in Dansàneu raising €2000.

We still lack 5000 euros needed to perform surgery on the designated 25 children. The cost would be 1000 euros per child.
We invite you to participate in this dream that we are going to make come true- the recovery of dignity as human beings of 25 children in Chad and their integration as full members of their communities.
WE INVITE EVERYONE TO STAND UP TO PUT 25 CHILDREN ON THEIR FEET through the empowerment of male and female surgeons- African traumatologists with specific surgical training so that they will be able to put the children of their villages on their feet.
